today I...

slept in.
realized I am looking forward to having health insurance.
was reminded that i need dental insurance (cavity).
rode my bike around the corner to see if the new super markte is open (its not)
cleaned my bathroom sink, toilet and shower.
did laundry.
showered.
made a pizza.
rode my bike to trader joes and then whole foods.
walked to the store and bought a 12 pack of root beer and some mike and ikes.

sounds like a lot when its written down. im very bored. im also really tired. 12 miles a day is wearing my out a little bit, but its also making me stronger too.

first day



Today was the big day. I found myself rolling around in bed having very realistic and somewhat anxiety ridden dreams right before I woke up. I got up around 8am, had a glass of soda and a banana (not the healthiest, but it woke me up and was a sort of compromise).

Showered, woke up some more. Made sure I had everything I needed, hopped on the bike and rode out. The mornings and nights here are still very nice it was probably around f60ยบ and overcast. I made my way up wood and crossed over to damen to avoid the 6 corners intersection. I was a little early for work and I stopped for a vitamin water.

Showed up a little sweaty but not too bad. Then I was introduced to pretty much everyone. The company is pretty small, the people are pretty young and its all very laid back and hip.

Some things are very laid back and I'm not used to it. I didn't do any paperwork today with HR, but I am on their radar because I was introduced to the HR dept (one guy).

Otherwise, I hit my feet with the ground running and I'll even have something I worked on in an upcoming issue of The Onion paper soon. I'll have to grab one, thats exciting.

Monday I start work. 10am. Hope it goes well. This week has been good. The day before yesterday I went to the beach with a girl. I did some good handstands. I'm getting really good at them. My form isn't that good, but I'm working on it. I'm getting better at pushups too. This week I have been doing 2 sets of 40. Last week I was doing 3 sets of 30 with around 4 minutes in between, and then a cap off of 10. Every night or every other night.

Keeping this up while working will be a different challenge I think. But, we'll see.

My current goal is to be able to do 2 sets of 50 pushups a day.

new life



Not much is new. just wasting time and money until I start work. I picked up a new bike for commuting. something I wont worry about getting stolen quite as much. Its a steel fixed gear bike, (as opposed to my carbon fiber road bike) so my legs are the brakes. Its a much different experience than being able to coast. I use different muscles than before and I use them all the time. Its a very very good work out.

I like it a lot and I might sell my old bike eventually. We'll see. I might also sell my car, but I need to get the exhaust fixed (its very very loud), but I need more money to do that, so after I start work probably.

been hanging out with girls, which is fun. sometimes dramatic.

dunno what else. wearin my helmet.

I am waiting for a big check to arrive from my main client, and most of that is going to rent. such is life.
