This is a good picture of where mike and I hung out yesterday. We just walked back and forth from shop to shop.

I am pretty much out of my old apartment. It was pretty sad to leave the cats. But I guess thats the way it goes. There are cats at jonathans place that come and go, mainly just 2 and they are brother/sister. But that is also why I couldnt bring gaia, shes not an indoor/outdoor cat.


I am in Chicago until Tomorrow night. Got here just fine, early even. But I almost missed my plane. Yesterday Mike and I wakled around a N Milwaukee avenue for a few hours and had some lunch at a coffee shop called Filter (grilled cheese and chips). Then we had dinner at a coffee shop called Earwax (pancakes with chocolate chips). We also managed to play a few rounds of New Super Mario Bros on the DS.

The snow felt like giant tufts of white cat hair falling on me, but then melting and making my feet very cold after a while. I bought a scarf. I couldnt find cheap shoes.


Today we are going to the condo that is being built. I'm very interested to see the size inside, and outside. I dont really know what the neighorhood looks like either, so I want to see that. I just want to see it.

Really tired last night too. Mike is a fast walker and in very good shape from boxing and martial arts. I am not in shape right now, so I keep up but I'm tired. Plus I have what feels like tendonitus behind my right knee, so lots of walking, fast, without stretching takes its toll and I want to sit down after a while. We got back to his friends house, Steve, around 8 or 9 I think, and I pretty much went to bed. But I think that means it was only 6 or 7 my time, which is pretty early (however I did wake up pretty early - 4.30am). Being so tired, I was a little homesick last night before falling asleep, and questioning if I can handle this, and if I will really like being here. But now that I've slept well I feel more sure of myself again. Its a big change, and a big deal to move like this. I should make sure to save lots of money once I move incase I want to move back. Hopefully that wont happen, and even still I will probably make a lot of money because I am awesome.

On monday night I had a great breakfast with my parents. Then work. At the end of my shift some friends from work took me out to a dive bar I like down by jack london square (the merchant saloon, which jonathan discovered). We played pool and they bought me drinks the whole night! We left and crashed at my friends house.

The next morning I felt ok until the afternoon. I had very bad diarrhea and cramps all afternoon and went home early. The next day (Wed) I stayed home and still had very bad stomach cramps and more of "the scoots", I slept most of the day and ended up having an accident in my sleep (which woke me up) and I ran as fast as I could into the bathroom and took a shower. How embarrassing.

Despite how sick I was, jenn still asked for me to get up at 8am to drive her to BART. Oh well, I'll never expect a favor from her again (No christmas present, no birthday present either for example). Well my car wouldn't start. Great. Dead batter, I'm thinking Alternator. Ugh.

So I rode my bike to work when I did go. Yesterday and Today I showed up early to be a "guest speaker" for Customer Services monthly meeting. I was asked to attend by one of the supervisors because I'm working on some projects to help our dept's work together better. They have two meetings because they can't have everyone off the phones at the same time. It was nice to hear about some stuff they have to deal with, especially when customers have coupons from direct mail specials.

After the meeting today, oh and I didn't clock in for either of these meetings by the way, after the meeting the supervisor IM's me asking for some help with a customers file and I oblige. She responds by saying that she's never had someone in design help her out as much as I do, and then she sends an email to my boss saying how awesome I am. That was nice. I was so busy today that I didn't really get to relish it, but oh well.

Its nice having friends at work. They treated me really well on my birthday and it was really interesting to see them at this dingy bar I like, they are clubbing kind of people that throw rave parties and spin techno music. They are very bubbly. Its too bad I got sick, but I'm nearly recovered. My lower abdomen is sore but I'm all solid now if you know what I mean. Electrolytes and stuff have been replenilshed for the most part.

Tonight Jonathan and I got on our bikes and rode out to the horse race track around Albany and talked and just hung out looking at the bay. Its a nice night, didn't really need a coat. He's very fast, and I'm very slow, with being out of shape and recovering from my birthday.

This weekend Jenn is packing up and heading out. Then I have the apartment to myself. Well me and Gaia for a couple weeks. I'm going to miss hating this place and my situation. The cats and my room mate. The weather. The bay. This home.

What a weird day.

I woke up and didnt go back to bed like I've been doing for the last few days. I made breakfast and got ready for work. I planned on getting to work about 20 minutes early, it makes setting up my work day a lot easier if there is a lot waiting for me.

Anyways, I made it to work alright and see that I had a package on my desk! yay. I figured it was something from a customer but I hadn't spoken to any of them recently about sending me their artwork. I took a closer look before clocking in and oh man, it was my new stickers!



Hooray! 250 bumper sticker quality stickers by the same print shop that printed shepard fairey's obey giant stickers.

So far nobody at work had any idea who jonathan ive is. I guess that just makes it that much more awesome. I'm really looking forward to sticking these across the country on the way to Chicago with Mike.

After I show them off to my friends in customer service I sit down and get set up. about 45 minutes go by and I look at the clock. Its 1.50pm! I got to work an hour early and I didn't even realize it until an hour went by.

So I left an hour early at the end of the day. But then jenn asked for a ride home. So much for quiet time to myself.

Mike just sent me the floor plan of where we'll be living. Very exciting. I get the small bed room, which he said is actually being built at 12x12' not 11x12'. Overall I am pretty excited about the entire plan. From the trip out there (driving in June with the convertible with his bmw coming along too), to living with a friend, to trying life in a totally new place.
