Sports

I got new tires for my bike, Specialized Mondo S-works. They're some of the best of the best apparently (I haven't had to buy new tires in years). I can't get them on my rims though, I managed to blister both my thumbs and eventually pop both my blisters just trying to get the first tire on.

I'm either going to have a good friend who probably has real man hands to put them on, or go to a shop with my tail between my legs (like a real man).

Specialized is a really cool company. They're down in Morgan Hill with Fox Racing. I got to intern with Fox in college and I really wish I could work there again, I think I would really fit in now (in college I was really nervous and bored and not into sports as much, so I think I anxiously worked myself into a corner there and didn't network at all).

Phone

My phone is kind of old. Like really old, and really barebones. I dont have a charger for it in my house, so I bought one for the car cig lighter, well that finally broke and now I've decided to pick up a new phone.

I went to buy.com and found the Sony Ericsson W600 "walkman" phone. I really really like Sony Ericsson's phones, especially the s710a but cingular doesn't offer any of their "candy bar" phones (as oppossed to the clam-shell design). I'll have a phone now that has a camera, which I'm pretty happy about.

I had to sign up for 2 more years with cingular but thats the way it goes when you want a phone for $50 off the bat. Only $50! Plus two $50 mail in rebates - yes they'll send me $50 after the first rebate for $50. BUT I couldn't find an address to send the rebate to, so whats the point?

Well, whatever, I think this is the first time I've actually paid money for a cell phone, so getting a cool one at this price is a good deal. Its a well designed phone I think.

Great Pizza

Here are my top lists for pizza places in the bay area and or california. I love pizza and I love trying new pizzarias.

Spuds Pizza - the best non NY style thin crust pizza I've ever had. I could eat their pies every day all day. Their service is a bit...clownish, but whatever, its a result of them working their asses off so they still deserve a good tip.

Zachary'. Zachary's is better than the Deep Dish pizza I had in Chicago. Encredibly fresh sauce and crust. The atmosphere is great, but cramped and the service is always super friendly despite being busy every hour they're open.

Lanesplitter. The best New York style pizza I've ever had (but I've never been to New York). Small or Large (get the large) or by the slice. They also have a patio out back and a good selection of beer. But the focus is on the pizza. Crispy and thin and perfect if you like NY style.

La Val's Pizza. There is something about the taste of their pizza that is addictive to me. They're quick and dirty style is perfect for getting something greasy in your stomach (which is great because they're across the street from The Mallard Club). They're also next door to a coin op laundry, so its good bait to go wash my clothes.

Last but not least, Tomatina. Very good mix style pizza. Upper class Walnut Creek style. Its a nice mix between California style and NY style. Very thing and dusty crust. Square pizzas too.

Oh, if you're in Santa Cruz look out for Upper Crust on the west side. Off of the highway1 and swift street I think. Get your own thin pizza with extra sauce.
