I love my girlfriend.

Apple announed two new things today worth noting. A boombox that doubles as a gigantic ipod dock, and the intel mac mini.

I don't really see where the iPodHiFi fits into theh apple home, but the mac mini looks great. I'd get one if I didn't already have an iBook. Its very media-centerish with the dvi out, optical, wifi and 4 usb ports. Oddly enough the only compitition I can think of for the mac mini is the xbox 360. Well, that is, as a media center computer. I guess the mac mini still makes a great entry level desktop. But for the price of an xbox 360 bundle, which comes with games and a 20 gig HD you could get the mac mini with osx and all the goodies included in the OS. But thats it. You have to provide the input (ok, it comes with a remote) devices and display.

I just got a new TV last weekend, upgrading from my non widescreen hdtv. My how the tables have turned. I used to be 100% Computer, and now I'm ready to just spend all my time vegging out infront of a TV with a console. Hooray for high resolution TVs.

Its too bad its all so expensive!

I went shopping today for work. We went to the mall in San Jose and took secret pictures of trends. I impulsively bought some new shoes, but I can wear them at work and they're awesome.

There is a funny story about buying the shoes, but it will wait. Posted by Picasa

Totally

Remember in high school or college or even middle school when you took a test for something you stayed up late studying for. You take the test and you finish almost first, you feel great because this was a subject you were struggling with. You turn in your test nearly first, definately earlier than usual. You did great. You feel smart for once. Accomplished. You can kick back and draw while everyone else finishes up. This is what it feels like to be smart.

Then everyone turns in their test, times up. The teacher shuffles them and passes them all back to a random person for the class to grade while the teacher reads out the right answers.

Then you get your paper back and you got almost every answer wrong. You face turns flush, you feel sweat itching at your back. So embarassing. What the hell happened? How could you have gotten so many questions wrong, so quickly. You studied, you woke up early. You were ready to pass this test! Not only did you totally bomb it, but you thought you aced it and turned it in early like a smug asshole.

Sometimes my life feels like that.

Karma Drive-Through

Yesterday was my birthday! Hooray.

Didn't do much yesterday. Just enjoyed my new apartment, my girlfriend, my parents and some pizza.

My parents came over for lunch and brought a huge pizza from Zachary's. They brought me TREK by David Carson and some Johnny Cash and a nice card, oh and lots of love.

After they left, we intended on going to trader joes and our old apartment to get stuff. We only went to the old place and I picked up my desk and computer. Took it home and put it together, and did the laundry. Then I went back out to IKEA and Trader Joes.

At IKEA I wasn't planning on spending any of the money my grandparents sent me (Thank you!) BUT there was this very comfy leather chair for lounging that had been catching my eye the last few times I was there. I didn't buy it. I found myself checking out the AS-IS section of floor model/damaged stuff. they had the chair for $70 cheaper, so I grabbed it. It has a small scratch on the seat behind where your knees would be. Now I can sit comfortably close to the TV when I play my games.

At Trader Joes I also made out with $20 extra, but I won't go into details how. I'm sure Karma will catch up with me on it though.

Either way, I made out pretty sweet yesterday on my Birthday.

Here are pictures of our new apartment, kind of messy, kind of blurry. Still unpacking.

Hooray

We stayed at our new apartment last night. I bought a new tv stand and some track lights that plug into the outlet. I managed to install them using drill bits and my fingers haha. We brought a car full of boxes. DVD's and TV stuff. Also brough the air matress from burning man and washed the sheets. It was great! The place is so huge! The heater is loud though. Its loud like our old heater at home. I'll have to get a space heater.

WOO.

I received a $25 off coupon code for newegg.com. I found this for $30. It's rediculous but probably better than the crazy case I have now. Posted by Picasa
