So this is the idea I had for the bedroom devider at our new place. Only instead of clear windows, have them be frosted. Thats going to be a lot harder to find however.

Wish I had thought of this before the scratches...

So, I think I found a good way to avoid scratches on the chrome part of the ipod if you dont want to shell out $20 for a product at compusa or something.

All you need is some scotch clear packing tape and an x-acto knife, or possibly an emeryboard (metal). All I have are sciccors and it looks ok.

I applied a strip to the back of my nano and I'm still working out the bugs with getting the right width of tape so it doesnt wrap around and over but otherwise its a perfect, cheap coating for the chrome.

Signed

We went and signed the lease for our new place and put most of the deposit down (it was an extra $1000 for the cats that I forgot about)

Good things about working on saturday

I don't have to feel guilty for browsing the web while I work.
I can wear my shoes, jeans and bme shirt.
I can bring my laptop and listen to music with speakers
I can take photos of my cube without getting searched (probably wouldnt anyways).
Its super quiet.

Everything else sucks.

Tomorrow we're signing the lease on the new apartment!

get r done

Ok so they're making an American version of Top Gear, the best show ever made and it happens to be about cars.

But really, who cares?

I have no doubt in my mind that the American version of this brillant English show will be completely void of any worth or value, well unless you like NASCAR and you've got a crush on your sister.

Seriously, who cares how a Ford Mustang compares to a Dodge Charger when they've been covering Zonda's, Ariel Atoms, Carrera GT's, Spykers, Vauxhalls, and even Bugatti's in the european show Vs. Mountain bikes, Mountain climbers, airplanes, helicopters and the worlds fastest sailorwoman?

Perhaps the only thing that would make this version of the show worth any amount of viewership is if The Stig shows up and punches all the stupid meathead hosts in the faces until their heads fall off - and I'm not a violent person.

With google video and the original Top Gear theres NO reason to pay for cable. None. Theres no reason to change this show either. It's insulting, honestly.

But thats just my opinion, and I could be wrong.

Vroom

I ordered a K&N drop in air filter for my little 2.0. I ordered last week and its here already, cool. I put it in and of course, haven't notice any difference except the engine is just barely smoother. I didn't get it to upgrade for the sake of upgrading, I had to get a new filter anyways, and I wanted to get something that wasn't just stock. this has a lifetime warranty or million mile warranty or something.

My job is pretty sweet. I get to make designs all day.

But I certainly wasnt expecting my creative directors to quit at the end of my first season. I had 2, a senior designer and his assistant. One was great (the assistant) and the other was stressful. The senior left first and then it was the assistant designer and a temp who was a former senior designer here a while ago who was great to work with.

Then the assistant left. Then the temp left at the begining of Jan.

Moving on to two new temp designers who don't really know wtf.

I don't really know wtf.

My manager is super awesome though and is helping me stay organized. But my deadline is coming up next Friday and I have like 40 artworks to create and I've had very little direction or feedback since Jan 1st.

I am not a creative or senior director. I'm an entry level graphic artist. I'm still learning tons about how fast I can go, what to do when, what to study for the trends, office politics and how to follow the calendars.

I have a giant knot in my right shoulder and it feels like its big its pulling on my collar bone. I'm stressed of course, but I've been more stressed out because of work before, so I'm handling it ok I think.

Because over all, currently I have a pretty nice job, a great girlfriend and a roof over my head (with lots of toys inside) and great family close by. The sun will come up tomorrow.

Clean

This is probably boring to you, but we have a clean fridge. I didn't realize how dirty it was until Jenn cleaned it. Wow.

Going back and thinking about my LA ride I found a Calorie calculator for excersize. I entered my weight back then ~160lbs multiplied it by about how many minutes a day I was travelling about 660 at ~14-16 mph and then multiplied that by ~3.5 days = ~30,500 Calories burned over 302 miles.

I want to do it again this year, but I just can't imagine making the time before work with my schedule. I don't really have the energy to raise the money again either. Excuses...

Last night the cat decided to dive off of the window sill and knock over everything on the night stand, some how turning on the alarm clock that isnt even set since we had a black out, tear off 3 keys on my laptop before finally landing on my face.

Happy new year.
